Nissan Leaf arrives nationwide

The last group of reservation holders are now able to request a quote and order a Nissan Leaf. This covers the following states:

Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming

According to mynissanleaf, new customers are being advised 90-120 days until delivery.

Nissan is steady rolling. The EPA label for the plug in Prius was released today. The label quotes an underwhelming 6 miles of all electric range. Good new for the Leaf, Volt and Focus EV I think.

Will be interesting to see what February numbers look like for the EVs

Update on EV Sales : Feb-2012

More interesting than actual sales was availability (again from same forum), both FFE and Mitsu 'i' too new to tell ...:

Supply for the LEAF still seems low - only about 700 in stock across the nation according to cars.com. Less than 250 in stock 500 miles from So Cal. I imagine that with Nissan is spreading them then with worldwide sales - and that most of the cars in stock are demos. Local dealers only have a couple in stock - and those could be pre-orders.

Compared to the Volt, there's 4300 showing up in stock nationwide and 314 of them 500 mi from So Cal. 1 local dealer has over 10 in stock. Supply is definitely better with the Volt than the LEAF.

Yeah March is shaping up to be a banner month for the Volt, with HOV Volts going on sale in CA.

The DOE estimated that by 2015 there would be 500k Leafs, 300k Volts and 20k FFE.

Too soon to say but moment seems to be swinging the Volts way for now.
