Default Welcome

We started this blog a few months ago, but news was slow coming and no official rollout plans had been made, so the forums were not activated. With the announcement today that 19 cities will be receiving Ford Focus Electrics in late 2011, it seems like a good idea to have a place to come and discuss the car now it is a reality.

Welcome!

Thanks, hopefully your forum catches on and there is a bunch of people who can all discuss the car.

Hopefully, this will grow in popularity like Prius Chat. Although, Priuschat.com fits easier on my back window than FordFocusElectric.
But, it is an easy website to remember - maybe Ford will help us... if they have Ford Focus Electric on the back of the car all that we have to add is .com

I look forward to future posts.

Yes, everyone else seems to have a community and there is nothing for this car at all. No information, no forums, nothing. Maybe this can get something going so I decided I should support it.

I'm pretty stoked about this car. I live 45 miles from my work place. Trying to see if they'll "hook me up" with an outlet. Doesn't even need to be 240v. 120v would be fine as it should be enough to either fully recharge or very close to full before I return home. In a pinch, I should be able to get there and back on a single charge.

Red Stang... if you lived in area with temperate weather, and you are willing to give up acceleration for miles then 90 miles round trip should be doable. But, significant demand for heat or AC can eat into your range big time. As some Leaf owners are finding out the hard way.

Using a 120v circuit to recharge for 8 hours you would see in the neighborhood of 30 miles of recharge, assuming mild weather.
