Ford Focus Electric Owners Manual

Credit to the site adm of myfocuselectric.com. It is a first printing without a date. It was posted on May 3rd so I am assuming it is current. Lengthy and interesting.

Re: Ford Focus Electric Owners Manual

Some of the information in the manual is boiler plate information.
Such as the "Ford Extended Service Plan" list of things not covered (Page 343). On the list are spark plugs, clutch and belts. None of these things are found in the Focus Electric.
Pages 334 and 336 cover long term storage. Page 336 covers long term storage of more than 3 months.
Note; If storage is over one month the 12 volt battery needs to be disconnected. This typical has to be done on many new cars because of keyless entry systems, and other systems that remain on after the car is turned off. They will slowly drain the 12 volt battery.

Does this mean they really aren't ready? It is the first printing and this did not come directly from Ford. It came from another forum administrator and I have no idea how he procured it. Maybe it was an early make-up and they have subsequently revised. Putting out a brand new auto certainly has lots of details needing to complete. Hopefully we will find out soon......

No the manual is available directly from Ford's site. Somebody just did some cut and pasting and did edit too closely. :)

Re: Ford Focus Electric Owners Manual

Actually this looks like a first draft. It does contain numerous details that are only found on the Electric version. This is most likely the manual that was given to the fleet customers. In the on line copy does not include a cover. This version of the manual looks very close to what the final copy of the manual will look like. One thing I did notice that was missing in the manual was how to find charging stations. This would most likely be found in the nav system under POI (Points Of Interest). Charging stations are being added at a rate of 50 to 100 every month. So this list needs to be constantly updated.
