Thanks Jeff. Your info on these boards about chargers has been very helpful, since Ford seems to be so secretive about specs. I guess they need to funnel cash to their partners...

Anyway, it seems to me that this one quoted above is basically the Ford-branded charger without the Ford branding. The specs are basically identical.

Does this seem right to others?

My wife is about to pull the trigger on a Ford Electric and I'd like to have my regular electrician (whom I know and trust and who won't gouge me) just set up the outlet and breaker and we can buy the above charger and plug it in...

Don't forget ClipperCreek
http://www.clippercreek.com/

I use a Clipper Creek CS-40 on my 13 FFE. 7.2KW 240 volt 550 dollars on Ebay.
btw I never successfully got a GeekSquad person on the phone to schedule an install (or even admit to knowing what I was asking for). I started looking around and found the CC on ebay. I do use the Blink chargers at Ecotality HQ here in Phoenix from time to time. They just recieved 4 13 FFE's to test with. The plus side to the Ecotality chargers is it is total EV geek heaven. Learned alot about the pros and cons of different EV cars from the people standing around waiting for the charge to complete.

Default Is a Plug-in Level 2 Charger a good option for me?

Since we rent our home and would want to take a new charger with us, I'm considering a 240V plug-in charger (uses outlets rather than being hardwired) that isn't hard wired. I've seen a couple that suggest they're only warranted for indoor use because of this, but beyond this I haven't found other differences outside of cost. Does anybody know if there's a difference in efficiency for these plug-in types?

Just installed a Clipper Creek L25 unit. It is half the size of the others I have seen and less expensive. It has been working for a week and works great!

Completed install myself in about 4 hours.
