I just picked up my Tuxedo Black Metallic Ford Focus and have been enjoying the car. I am averaging 84 miles to a charge on my Siemens 240 Volt charger and am getting used to the brakes and lower gear to add to my range. Did a 36 month lease and have started my upgrades this week. Added a Vanquish badge on the rear, removed the Focus and Ford badges and added Aston Martin emblems front and back. Doing a dark window tint on Friday and will try to see if I can get the Aston Martin wheel caps to work as well. I have concluded that other than a few exotics like the Tesla, we pretty much see the technology that will be available in the next year or two. I finally found price and range estimates for the Smart EV, the BMW Electric, the Fiat electric, and have concluded that Honda's FitEV will continue with restricted geography and low production. I test drove a Mitsubishi, a Nissan, and the Ford today.

I leased a Focus Electric and it will be delivered tomorrow via flat bed as the closest EV dealer is about 150 miles away.

I have been debating with myself for about three years on electric. There are no electric cars sold in my city, (small), and I have been in contact with two dealers in Raleigh, NC and am near the signing point on a FFE.

I'll keep my current car for out of town trips which realistically are rare for me. The FFE will be mainly for commute. I live 20.5 miles from where I work which means a daily 41 mile commute. Our weather includes about three months when you would run a heater and about six months when you would run an AC. About half of my commute days include using headlamps in the morning or evening or both.

The commute is pretty much flat, I live on the coast. About half the commute is 55mph and the rest a mix of 35-45.

How will this commute work with the Focus Electric?
